DIY Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Gorilla Glue Company  for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Whether it’s the holidays or not one thing is for certain: A Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath will NEVER go out of style. It’s a year-round decoration you can be proud to display. Imagine someone walking into your house and spotting that baby, BAM they know they know that you ARE the very best like no one ever was! So sit down, grab your glue gun and let’s get to making your very own Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath.

What You Will Need to Make a DIY Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath:

  • Gorilla Hot Glue Sticks
  • Glue Gun
  • White Foam Wreath (I used 17.8 inch)
  • Pokemon Plush (I used Pikachu)
  • White Tulle
  • Red Tulle
  • Black Wire Ribbon
  • Foam Pieces in Black and White
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • PenPokemon Poke Ball Wreath supplies

How to Make a DIY Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath:

Start by setting up your hot glue gun. You want to allow enough time for your hot glue gun to heat the Gorilla Hot Glue Sticks.Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath step1

Next, you want to lay your foam wreath on a flat surface and use a ruler to mark the half way mark. I used a pen to do this. It makes it look more authentic because only half of a Poke Ball is red.Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath step2

Now grab your red tulle and start to wrap it around the foam wreath. Start from one mark and work your way around to the other mark on the opposite side. I suggest gluing the first piece of the tulle to the foam wreath and then continue to wrap it. You can use the hot glue as you go. The nice thing about the Gorilla Hot Glue Sticks is they have an extended drying time (45 seconds) so you can move the tulle as needed until it’s in the correct place before the glue dries.Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath step3

Continue wrapping until you reach the other side. Then repeat the step above with the white tulle. Tip: It may be easier to cut the tulle into smaller pieces and then glue and continue until it’s wrapped.Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath step5 Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath step6

Next, take your black ribbon and wrap it in the middle of the wreath (where the two tulle colors meet) and wrap it around the entire wreath. Cut off the amount of black ribbon you need.Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath step7

Now, you need to use your hot glue gun to attach the black ribbon to the wreath. I did this on the backside (I actually glued it all on the backside) so the front is clean and pretty looking.Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath step9

Finally, it’s time to add those final details. Take your black and white pieces of foam board and cut circles to create the buttons for the Poke Ball. I used a small bowl to trace around for the black round piece, then 2 smaller cups that fit inside of each other for the white button pieces. Cut with scissors.Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath step10

Attach each of the pieces together by using your hot glue gun and then hot glue those to the front middle of the black ribbon as shown below.Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath step11

Are you ready for the last step? It’s all about the Pikachu (or whatever Pokemon plush you decide to use). Use a bit of hot glue to attach it to your wreath. You can also use small push pins to fit it a bit more securely.

That’s it! Now you have your own homemade Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath that is perfect for all-year long!DIY Pokemon Poke Ball Wreath Featured

Don’t attempt this craft without Gorilla Hot Glue Sticks!

When you are dealing with such a fun craft you want a brand you know you can trust to keep it all together. For this craft, I used Gorilla Hot Glue Sticks. I knew it would have that strong hold just like many other Gorilla Brand products I’ve used in the past. Since this craft required a lot of glue, I knew I also needed time to allow me to get this project just right. Other hot glue sticks don’t stand a chance since they dry too quickly and leave a globby mess. Gorilla Hot Glue Sticks are:

  • 5X MORE DURABLE* – For projects that last
  • WEATHER RESISTANT – For indoor and outdoor use
  • ALL TEMPERATURE- Safe for both high and low temperature glue guns
  • HIGH TEMPERATURE FOR STRONG BONDING: Wood, Plastic, Metal, Glass and More!
  • LOW TEMPERATURE FOR DELICATE MATERIALS: Floral, Fabric, Foam, Jewelry and More!
  • 45 SECOND EXTENDED WORKING TIME
  • VERSATILE – Works on hard to bond surfaces like metal and glass.
  • IMPACT TOUGH®

In case you are wanting to give these a whirl, you can find them at your local Walmart. I found mine right in the craft section (by the paint and wood). They come in mini and regular size glue sticks so you can get your project done right. You can learn more here.
