Frequently Asked Questions:

I can’t find candy melts, what else can I use?
If you can’t find the white candy melts or don’t like the taste of them, you can use white almond bark instead. You can also use white chocolate chips or any white candy coating will do.

I have a peanut allergy, what can I use in place of the Nutter Butter Cookies?
If you or someone you know has a peanut allergy but you still want to make these fun treats, you can use Milano cookies instead. The shape will be a little different but they will still end up just as cute.

How do I store these?
Store any leftover ghost cookies in a sealed container (can be a ziplock bag) away from any moisture or heat. Store at room temperature or in the fridge until ready to eat. If they are exposed to moisture or heat, the chocolate will melt. These can be stored for up to 5 days. You can freeze these cookies in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.  Unwrap and thaw on the counter in a dry place.

How to Make Nutter Butter Ghost Cookies

Line a baking sheet with a piece of wax paper. This gives you a place to put the dipped cookies allowing them to harden before consuming.

In a small microwaveable bowl (microwave safe dish), melt the white candy melts in the microwave.  Melt in 30 second intervals at 50% power.  Stir between each interval. This will take 4-5 minutes. Be careful not to burn the candy melts.

Dip each Nutter Butter into the white candy covering approximately 70-75% of the cookie.  This will leave the bottom of the cookie exposed. Let the excess chocolate drip off, and tap the cookie lightly on the side of the bowl if it’s stubborn.

While the candy melts are still wet, press 2 candy eyeballs and 1 chocolate chip mouth into the white candy to make the ghost face.
