Being a mom is awesome, but sometimes we lack the skill from day to day. After all, we are only human and we are bound to make mistakes, feel discouraged, or feel like we want to rip out the hair we have left! If you feel this way you are certainly not alone. Here are a few reminders on how to be an awesome mom, even when you feel like you can’t be.
10 Tips for Being an Awesome Mom
#1. Act excited to see your kids- I don’t think there is anything more awesome than acting excited to see your kids in the morning. They love it! Try it and see how awesome you feel as a mom.
#2. Write a note in your kid’s lunchbox- Something so simple can mean so much. Take the time to write a quick note. See how it makes your kids day!
#3. Talk to your kids- You would be surprised at how great it feels when you talk to your kids. Actually ask them how they are doing and how they feel.
#4. Make their favorite snack- Remember that kids are only little once. Take some time once in a while to make their favorite snack.
#5. Surprise them once in a while- Kids love to be surprised. If you can swing it, have a mommy-kid date day. Where the day is all about you and your kid.
#6. Do crafts together- Kids love to spend time with their parents. Spend a whole day doing fun crafts together as a family, they’ll love it.
#7. Just be you- Every kid out there has been given the best mom for them, don’t forget it. Whenever you’re feeling like less than a stellar mom, just remember they love you just the way you are.
#8. Be present- Sometimes it’s so easy to get lost in our electronics and ignore our kids. Take some time to just be present and to enjoy the precense of your kids.
#9. Get involved- Don’t just shoo your kids into the next room, get involved in their lives. Visit them at school, go to their games, and spend time with them at home. Being involved is one of the best ways to be an awesome mom.
#10. Enjoy their childhood—Before you know it, your kids will be grown. You may get told this all of the time, but it’s so true. Take the time to enjoy your kids and all the joy they bring now.
Want to be an awesome mom? Keep doing what you’re doing because you are already AWESOME. Sure, we could all use a little improvement, but at the end of the day, your kids already think you’re awesome and that is the best compliment you can receive!
What is one special thing you love to do for your kids?
I think I don’t do enough mommy-kid dates. Whilst we do tons of stuff at home together time sort of flies by when you running from play date to play date and all the sports activities. I really need to make more of an effort to do some more memorable stuff.
I think that is a totally normal feeling! I do lots of crafts with my kids and when the weather is warm, we spend time outside but since I also work full-time from home, I still feel like it isn’t enough. Just remember you are doing great! 🙂
I absolutely love this post! Great reminders for all of us busy Moms!
Just be you 🙂 I love that one!
