What You Need to Make 3-Ingredient Cheddar Cream of Mushroom Chicken:
- Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking System (or a Crockpot/Instant Pot will do just fine)
- 1 Can of Family Size Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 1 Can of French’s Cheddar French Fried Onions (you can also use regular or even bread crumbs or croutons on top)
- 2 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
How to Make Cheddar Cream of Mushroom Chicken:
Preheat your Ninja cooking system or Crock-Pot. I set mine to oven bake at 275 degrees. Adjust this temperature based on the amount of time you want to cook.
By the way, you can surely use an Instant Pot and use the slow cook setting.
Place your chicken breasts into the pan spread evenly apart.
Pour the entire can of cream of mushroom soup on top of the chicken.
Allow to cook for several hours (with the Ninja cooking system it cooks much faster at a lower heat then with a slow cooker).
During the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the tops of the chicken with the cheddar french fried onions and allow to cook until finished.
Serve with a side of vegetables or rice and enjoy!

I’m going to make this with 4 chicken breasts rather than 2, do you think I will need to double the soup as well?
I would 🙂
I tried making this but was unable to find the cheddar french fried onions. Is that an item only found at a specialty store? Thanks for sharing such an easy recipe.
They carry them here at Walmart, Target and Smith’s which is my local owned Kroger store. I would check those places 🙂
Since I do not have the ninja cooking system and I would just use a regular crock pot. About how many hours would you recommend cooking on low?
Love your recipes!
Brittany
Thanks Brittany! For this I would say cook for about 4-5 hours on low. You just want to make sure your chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Every crock pot is usually different on how hot it actually gets so the best way to determine if it’s cooked or not is with a food thermometer. Hope that helps!
@Brittanie,
I’m cooking it in my ninja foodi, should this be for one hour in the ninja foodi?
Hi Kelsey, I haven’t made this in the Ninja Foodi so I would follow the cooking recommendations on that specific machine for chicken.
