Disclosure: I have been compensated by JOHNSON‘S® Baby for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.
When you are a new mom you worry about everything. Something that would seem so simple such as leaving your baby overnight for the first time seems to be overwhelming. With this Baby Overnight Basket, you can rest easy knowing your baby has everything he or she needs to get through the night.
I get it, leaving your baby for the first time is hard. Even if it’s just to run to the grocery store.
When it comes time to have your first night away from your baby, that is even harder.
You begin to worry about all the things that can go wrong without you there. What if he/she needs you in the middle of the night? What if you can’t sleep without him/her?
Stop all the worry and know that your baby is in good hands. Whomever you’ve chosen to care for him/her overnight, is a good choice and you chose that person for a reason.
So, stop all the worry and be grateful you have someone in your life you can trust with your baby. Now, enjoy your time spent away from him or her. Trust me, time away from your baby is good for the both of you. It makes those moments with your baby, that much more precious.
Are you good now?
Great! Let’s get to planning your baby’s first overnight away from you.
Of course, you’ll need the basics:
- Breastmilk or Formula
Typically, things you’d pack in your diaper bag even as you run errands.
But then, what if your baby has a blow out in the middle of the night? What if she spits up a little too much and wipes just can’t cut it?
That is when you’ll need extra items to clean and care for your baby. That is the inspiration behind this post.
I am a firm believer in being prepared for the worst and I’d rather be safe than sorry. Pack too many items without having to use them rather than not packing enough.
Here is what I recommend in your baby overnight basket:
- A towel
- JOHNSON’S Baby Shampoo
- JOHNSON’S® Head-to-ToeBaby Wash
- JOHNSON’S® Head-to-ToeLotion
- Desitin Rapid Relief Cream
- Baby Loofah or Washcloth
Of course, you add in more items such as ear safety swabs, infant medication, bulb syringe, baby nail clippers, etc. to complete the basket and give everything your baby needs. Overall, I think this is a good start especially if your baby is only away for a night.
The great thing is, you can head shopping and get everything you need a Walmart. In fact, down the shampoo/soap isle, I found an entire shelf filled with JOHNSON‘S® baby products – everything you need in one place. And if you are in a hurry, you can even order online and pick up in-store.
