I’ll admit, I love hot cocoa. It’s the perfect way to warm up while enjoying something sweet during the cold winter months.

Besides, it’s chocolate, milk and a few other sweet ingredients so how could you possibly go wrong?

So, if you enjoy hot cocoa but want it with a little extra kick, this is it!

Boozy Peppermint Hot Cocoa

Ingredients you need:

  • Peppermint Schnapps
  • Chocolate Liquor – My favorite is Godiva Dark Chocolate Liqueur
  • Cocoa – I like Ghirardelli or the Hershey’s brand
  • Milk – Whole milk is best because it gives it that creamy taste and texture
  • Sugar
  • Crushed candy canes
  • Simple Syrup
  • Whipped Cream

How to Make It:

Dip the rims of the mugs into the simple syrup and then into the
crushed candy canes.

Set the mugs to the side.

Add the milk, hot cocoa mix and sugar to a saucepan and heat over medium heat.

Stir until cocoa and sugar are dissolved, and the mixture is warm.

Remove from the heat, do not let it simmer.

Add peppermint schnapps and chocolate liquor. Stir well.

Garnish with whipped cream, and sprinkle with crushed candy canes.

Serve warm and enjoy!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 oz Peppermint Schnapps
  • 3 oz Chocolate Liquor
  • 5 Tablespoon Cocoa
  • 8 OZ Milk
  • 3 TBSP Sugar

Instructions
 

  • Dip the rims of the mugs into the simple syrup and then into the crushed candy canes.
  • Set the mugs to the side.
  • Add the milk, hot cocoa mix and sugar to a saucepan and heat over medium heat.
  • Stir until cocoa and sugar are dissolved, and the mixture is warm.
