What You Need to Make Chicken Caesar Pasta Salad

  • Rotini Pasta – Cooked and cooled
  • Hearts of Romaine- You can use any lettuce you’d like
  • Cooked Chicken– I like to make my own or I like the pre-cooked cubed chicken from Costco
  • Croutons – Your favorite kind (I really like the Olive Garden brand in the bag)
  • Bacon – Cooked and chopped
  • Parmesan Cheese Flakes – You can also use shredded parmesan or any other kind of cheese
  • Caesar Dressing – Use your favorite kind. Can also substitute for ranch or any other dressing you’d like.

Helpful Tips

  • You can make this ahead of time and place into the fridge to chill. However, I’d add the dressing croutons last to avoid them getting soggy.
  • If serving outside at a bbq or event, you can put a pan of ice underneath to keep it chilled.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 1-2 days in an airtight container. Keep in mind that any croutons may become soggy at this point.

How to make your own homemade chicken caesar pasta salad
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 7 minutes

  • 8 ounces rotini pasta
  • 1-2 hearts of romaine
  • 2 cups cooked chicken
  • 1 cup croutons
  • ½ cup bacon cooked and chopped
  • Parmesan cheese flakes or shredded cheese, for serving
  • Caesar dressing for serving


  • Prepare the pasta, according to box directions, boiling for about 7 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water. Set aside.
  • Chop the romaine, and rinse and dry well. Set aside.
  • To a large salad bowl, add chopped romaine, cooked pasta, and cooked chicken. Toss. If desired, chill the salad for 1 hour, for a cold pasta salad.
  • Sprinkle over croutons and bacon.
  • Serve, with Caesar dressing, or your other favorite salad dressing, and parmesan cheese flakes.
  • Enjoy!
