What You Need to Make Chocolate Grinch Suckers

Items Needed:

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Disposable Frosting Bag
  • Scissors
  • Sucker Sticks
  • Small Bowl
  • Spoon

How to Make Chocolate Grinch Suckers

Start by lining your baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Place the candy melts in a small bowl and microwave for 2 minutes, pausing every 30 seconds to stir until smooth.

Add the coconut oil to the chocolate and stir until combined. This helps make it thinner and easier to drizzle.

Place the melted chocolate in the frosting bag and snip only a very small tip off the bag, using the scissors. Do this at a 45-degree angle.

Line your sucker sticks up on the baking sheet 5 at a time (I used two baking sheets to have plenty of room).

Start about an inch down the sucker stick and make about a 3-inch squiggly line across it, the sucker stick landing in the middle. Turn the line into a triangle using the same squiggly lines.

Fill in the triangle by making squiggly lines, moving horizontally, while the bag is making vertical movements. In other words, the bag is moving up and down in small motions making squiggly lines, but the lines are being made horizontally.

Once your trees are filled in, place a large red heart at the tip of the triangle.

Chill for 10 minutes or until hardened.

Serve and Enjoy!

Helpful Tips:

  • Have fun with testing out how to make the trees! Even if they aren’t perfect, that’s the fun of the Grinch. Nothing is perfect, everything is fun and wacky. If you mess up and need more chocolate, there should be chocolate melts leftover in the bag and the chocolate goes a long way.
  • If your sucker sticks are extra long, you should just be able to snip them off with the scissors. You can also make a notch in them with the scissors and just bend the stick, which will snap in place easily.
  • I placed my frosting bag over a cup in order to easily fill it with chocolate.
  • Add a bow to the sucker sticks to make them even cuter!
  • I lined my suckers up on the baking sheet so that every other sucker was facing the opposite way. This gave me more room to work and fit more on a sheet.
  • I used a basic sucker stand off Amazon to hold and display the suckers. However, you can always stick some styrofoam or filler in the bottom of a cup or short vase and display them that way.
