Just about everyone I know goes crazy for Little Debbie Christmas Tree desserts around the holidays, and this year, Little Debbie released these new Mini Christmas Tree Cake Donuts that are already a huge hit and selling out fast! So I decided it was time to make a homemade version! After all, we can all agree that homemade tastes best, right? You’re going to love the taste, texture, and festive look of these adorable mini Christmas donuts. They make a perfect gift and are so cute to serve up at holiday parties!

Ingredient Information

  • Cake Mix: We used Duncan Hines yellow cake mix but you can use your favorite brand.
  • Almond Bark: Despite it’s name, almond bark does not contain almonds. You can find this down the baking aisle at your local grocery store.
  • Red Candy Melts: Can find these at your local craft store such as Hobby Lobby or Michaels near the baking section.
  • Green Sprinkles: We used green sanding sugar but you can use green non-pareils or green jimmies too.

Storage Information

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature away from heat and moisture.

Helpful Tips

  •  You can make a chocolate version with chocolate cake mix or try another flavor such as red velvet.
  • I highly recommend using a mini silicone donut pan, it makes it easier to remove the donuts after baking.

Mini  Christmas Tree Cake Donuts

These Mini Christmas Tree Cake Donuts taste just like your favorite Little Debbie holiday treat! Easy to make and oh-so-festive, they’re the perfect addition to your holiday table. You’ll wonder why you didn’t make these sooner!

Ingredients
 

  • 1 box yellow cake mix 13.25 oz
  • 3 eggs plus 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 pound white almond bark
  • ½ cup red candy melts
  • Green sprinkles

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Melt the butter. Can melt in microwave in 30 second increments until melted.
  • In a mixing bowl combine the cake mix, eggs, egg yolk, milk and melted butter.
  • Stir until combined.
  • Pipe or spoon the batter into a mini donut mold.
  • Bake for 12 minutes or until colder and cooked through.
  • Repeat with the rest of the batter.
  • Let the doughnuts cool.
  • In a microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals melt the almond bark until smooth and melted.
  • Dip the top of each doughnut in the almond bark and set on a parchment lined tray.
  • Sprinkle with green sprinkles.
  • In a small microwave safe bowl melt the red candy melts until melted and smooth.
  • Place the red candy melts in a ziploc bag with the corner snipped off.
  • Drizzle the red chocolate over the doughnuts.
  • Set aside to set up.
  • Serve!
