How to Make Outback Steakhouse Bread at Home
Preheat the oven to 100 F. Mix warm water (about 100 F), brown sugar, honey, molasses, and dry yeast in a bowl.
Beat with a whisk until combined and at least partially dissolved sugar. Cover the bowl with cling film and leave for 15-20 minutes. Foam should appear on the surface of the water.
In a deep bowl, mix the two types of flour, as well as cocoa powder.
Pour the sweet water with yeast into a bowl, and add vegetable oil.
With a spoon and then with your hands, or with a mixer and a dough hook, knead a smooth and soft dough. Cover the bowl with cling film and put the bowl in the oven for 40-50 minutes.
After 40-50 minutes, the dough should double in size.
Divide the dough into 8-10 balls of the same size.
Roll each ball of dough into a sheet about 1/5 inch thick.
Roll the dough tightly and seal the edges. Put in a baking dish. (In the form of 9 x 13 it will be possible to put four pieces).
Cover the baking dish with cling film and put in the oven (100F).
Wait another 20-30 minutes until the bread has increased in size, then remove from the oven.
Set oven to 400F and wait for the oven to preheat.
If desired, you can sprinkle bread with oatmeal at this point.
Remove the cling film from the baking dish and place in the oven.
Bake bread for 18-20 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow the bread to cool enough before cutting.
Serve and enjoy!
