Cotton Candy Glitter Bombs
Over the holidays my kids loved making the viral TikTok Hot Cocoa Bombs and we made so many different varieties but then we decided it was time to make something different.
Bring in the Cotton Candy Glitter Bombs!!
What Are Cotton Candy Glitter Bombs?
Cotton Candy Glitter Bombs are a ball of cotton candy that has edible glitter placed into the middle. You stick it inside your favorite drink (we highly recommend something carbonated) and watch it dissolve before your eyes.
You are left with a glittery drink with a light cotton candy taste and it so fun to make!
How to Use Cotton Candy Glitter Bombs
Simply drop your cotton candy glitter bomb into a glass and pour your favorite carbonated drink over it. The cotton candy will melt away into the drink, give it a stir and you’ll see a beautiful shimmer to your drink.
While you can also use things like juice or wine, I find it to work better with carbonated drinks.
You can even add champagne over the top for a fun, boozy drink!
Cotton Candy Glitter Bomb Tips
- Store in a cool, dry place. If these are exposed to moisture, they will melt.
- Use edible glitter or edible luster dust inside the cotton candy.
- You can add other things such as sprinkles inside the cotton candy too!
- Store in a plastic container until ready to use.
What You Need to Make Cotton Candy Glitter Bombs
- Cotton Candy – Any flavor or color will do. Mix it up and try different colors and flavors!
- Edible Glitter – I love the Wilton luster pearl dust because it’s inexpensive and relatively easy to find.
How to Make Cotton Candy Glitter Bombs
Start by grabbing a handful of cotton candy and make an indent in the middle.
Pour some luster dust into the middle (be generous – about 1 teaspoon).
Roll into a ball so the luster dust is sealed in the middle of the cotton candy ball.
When ready to use, place into a glass and pour your favorite carbonated drink over the top and watch it dissolve.
Stir and enjoy! You’ll notice how shimmery and shiny the drink is!
Trust me, these pictures don’t do it justice!!

NUTRITION
Nutrition information is a rough estimate only; actual values will vary based on the exact ingredients used and amount of recipe prepared.
Folding the cotton candy in half and then half again until you have a smaller square and it will help keep the glitter from falling out. Rolling it in a ball will make hard crunchy cotton candy but doing it the first will leave it light and fluffy!
How many would you be able to make out of one cotton candy container? A guess would be great of you don’t know for sure.
Assuming you are using the same product I used (and same size) you could easily make 10-15 per container depending on the size you make each bomb 🙂
Can you add to the top of a drink instead of before you pour? Specifically thinking champagne.
You totally can!
Hi!! This is really a “What do you think?” question lol. I wanted to make these as part of a Baby Shower favor box with a mini bottle of champagne. How many days do you think I can have these done and placed in plastic dome packaging before they go bad? Only asking since I have 100 to make and the sooner I can make them the better.
I would say these would be okay to make several days before the event. The only thing is, you want to make sure that the containers you seal them will keep moisture out because any bit of moisture can totally ruin these (since Cotton Candy melts so easy). I recommend making a few and just doing a test batch and see how they do. If you store them at room temperature where it’s not too hot and does not have sweating or condensation, you should totally be fine. 🙂
I wonder how it would work in a cocoa bomb? Might have to try this…this would be awesome in a unicorn cocoa bomb!
It would! I think it would totally work out great!
How many can I order at once and do it come in different colors
Hi Dawn, I am so sorry but these are not for sale. I just made a recipe and shared it 🙂
