Grinch Cinnamon Rolls are the perfect holiday treat. They are easy to make and will look adorable on any holiday spread!
Grinch Cinnamon Rolls
When it comes to Grinch themed treats, I think I know a thing or two.
For starters, it has to look the part with green and a red heart but it also has to taste good too!
And I believe these Grinch cinnamon rolls nail all those points.
These are so easy to make (they use Pillsbury crescent rolls) and they are delicious.
You can make these for your family, neighbors or even to bring to a holiday party.

What You Need to Make Grinch Cinnamon Rolls
- Roll of Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls
- Heavy cream
- Powdered sugar
- Milk
- Salt
- Vanilla
- Cream cheese
- Butter, softened
- Green gel food coloring
- Heart sprinkles
How far in advance can I make this?
You can make these 1-2 days in advance. Just make sure they stay covered so they don’t get hard.
Can I use regular green food coloring?
Yes you can use regular green food coloring. However, you don’t want to use too much since it is water based and will make the frosting runny. I prefer using gel food coloring for that reason plus it gives a more vibrant color.
Can I use the icing the cinnamon rolls come with?
Yes. I prefer the taste of homemade icing but you can use the one that the container comes with it and just dye it green using the food coloring.
Can I roll them into hearts prior to baking?
Yes! If you want, you can carefully unroll the cinnamon rolls and then roll them back into hearts prior to baking. That way, you can skip the step of cutting them into hearts after they’ve baked.
How to Make Grinch Cinnamon Rolls
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees, and grease a round cake pan.
Place cinnamon rolls into the cake pan as shown.
Discard the cinnamon roll icing.
Pour heavy cream over top of the cinnamon rolls.
Bake according to the package directions, about 25 minutes.
Meanwhile, make your frosting.
In a large mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese and butter until fluffy.
Add powdered sugar and vanilla, and mix well to incorporate.
Add milk and a pinch of salt, and mix well again.
Add 4-5 drops of green gel food coloring, and mix until color is fully incorporated. Add additional food coloring until you reach your desired shade of green, if necessary.
Once cinnamon rolls have finished baking, allow them to cool.
Remove them from the pan, they should be somewhat triangle shaped.
Turn the triangle shapes upside down. From the top, long side, cut out a small triangle from the center, as shown. If needed, round off the corners to form your heart shapes.
Frost your cinnamon rolls with the green frosting and add a heart sprinkle.
Serve and Enjoy!
