Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance can I make this dip?
You can make this dip 1-2 days in advance and place it into the refrigerator in an airtight container (you can also cover with plastic wrap). I would add the heart sprinkles on top last to avoid them melting with the moisture of the fridge. Remove the dip from the fridge about 10 minutes prior to serving.
I will say, this dip tends to be better overall if you make it within a few hours of serving.
Can I freeze this dip?
No, I wouldn’t freeze the dip as it may change the overall texture of the dip.
Can I use regular green food coloring?
You certainly can. However, regular food coloring is water based instead of oil based like the gel food coloring. I prefer gel food coloring because it’s easier to use, it takes less to make a more vibrant color and it won’t make your dip watery.
What items can I dip into this festive treat?
Vanilla wafers, animal crackers, fresh fruit, gingerbread cookies, shortbread cookies and any of your favorite Christmas cookies will be perfect in this.
