Helpful Tips
- I use a tamper for my blender because it’s not quite as powerful as I like it. It’s an older model, so you might not have to use one. However, if you have trouble with your blender not wanting to blend the ingredients, it should have come with a tamper you can use to keep the ice and ingredients moving for a nice smooth blend. That’s its entire purpose.
- You can add more juice if desired, but remember, more juice means a thinner slushie. This is totally preference based, so it’s up to you.
- The Hawaiian Punch brand has a ton of flavors. Feel free to use any flavor you like.
- You cannot make these ahead of time. They need to be consumed immediately upon being made. They will melt if left in the fridge and they will freeze as solid as a block of ice if stored in the freezer.
- The sugar aspect of this recipe is important because it helps the ice, once blended, to mix with the liquid. Without sugar, the two will fight to meld together. A mini science lesson, if you will.
