How to Make Flying Insects Bite The Dust

The weather is warming up and that can only mean one thing – pesky insects are coming out of hiding to bite you and suck your bloooooodddd. Yes, it sounds scary and it’s because it is! Nobody wants to be bothered while enjoying the outdoors! So today I want to share How to Make Flying Insects Bite The Dust!

How to Make Flying Insects Bite The Dust

I don’t know about you but I love the outdoors. I love the warm weather, birds chirping, and the fresh air. However, bugs and insects are my least favorite thing. Not only am I totally terrified of creepy crawlies, I just find them quite annoying that they want to feast on my skin while I am enjoying outside. They can immediately turn a pleasant experience into an unpleasant one. That is exactly why now is the time for me to figure out how to handle these pesky flying insects and I think I’ve found a way!

Now at this point you might be thinking, well Brittanie, the insecticides, repellent sprays, and even citronella candles work and while you may be right, have you considered what you are putting out into the Earth just to save yourself from insects?

Did you know that DEET (a common insect repelling chemical) has been known to come with side effects?

THE CDC and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency maintain that when used properly, and for short periods of time on the skin, DEET is relatively safe at doses found in sprays, lotions, and liquids even despite its side effects such as dizziness, disorientation, seizures and even death. Yes, you read that right! While they recommend only using products with less than 30% DEET, is that a chance you really want to take? If it’s my only option then yes but otherwise NO.

To reduce the risk of inhaling an excess of potentially harmful chemicals, they also recommend avoiding outdoor “fogger” insecticides, candles, and aerosol sprays that release fine particles of bug repellent that can lead to respiratory problems. Again, not for me.

So, what can we do? That is where I am here to help!

I was recently introduced to a product called Zevo Flying Insect Trap.

Zevo Flying Insect Traps eliminate flying insects, like mosquitoes, houseflies, moths, fruit flies, gnats, and more in and around your home without the use of chemical insecticides. Unlike other insect control solutions, Zevo is both worry-free and effective – you don’t have to trade one problem in your home (flying insects), for another (messes, smells, chemical insecticides).

In fact, Zevo contains no chemical insecticides – instead of repelling insects like other insect control products, Zevo uses insects’ natural instincts against them with an irresistible UV and blue light bio-attractants to continuously attract and trap insects into a super sticky adhesive backing you never have to touch.

And the best part? It’s easy to install! Simply open the box…

Then plug in to an outlet where you want to be protected from flying insects. There will be a little blue light (shown below) that will indicate it is on and working.

I plugged ours right on our enclosed deck. While it is covered from the rain, it surely isn’t insect proof. I’d just like to drink my coffee or enjoying looking at the stars without the worry of insects and now I can!

Then when it’s time to replace the cartridge just pop it out of the plug and put in a new cartridge. The powerful adhesive pad inside the cartridge can stay sticky for months after it’s plugged-in, but it is recommended to replace the refill cartridge every 14 – 30 days, for optimum performance.

So where can you get this amazing product? Visit the Zevo Website to order one! Plus all orders ship free!
