How To Survive Black Friday- Final Post!

Black Friday officially starts Tomorrow! To help you Survive Shopping on and around Black Friday I have put together a little series. Post #1 was on how to Strategize. Post #2 was on how to Prioritize. Get Sleep. The best advice I have for you is to get a lot of sleep. I know with Thanksgiving being tomorrow and Black Friday starting, this is easier said than done. But if you don’t get enough sleep you won’t be on your A game and your mind may not think straight, your reaction time will be slow, and it could cost you those awesome deals. Just go to bed early tonight or try to find time tomorrow to take a quick nap, you will be glad you did.

Obtain Energy. I know sleep is the best form of energy but I am talking find a way to get a rush of energy. As soon as those associates unwrap those items on Black Friday you are going to need it. Drink coffee, take an energy shot (much healthier than an energy drink), or eat some sort of energy bar. I also like carrying snacks in my purse or bag so that I don’t get hungry. When you are hungry you lack energy so keep a little something in your bag. Almonds, Peanuts, and Chocolate (in moderation) are good forms of energy.

Keep Hydrated. You will get quick a bit of exercise on Black Friday with all that walking, standing, and yes running. Make sure you are hydrated. Chug a Gatorade  Powerade, or just some water. You may need to take more bathroom breaks but don’t worry you won’t loose your place in line since you are bringing your shopping buddy right? 🙂

Take Breaks Often. Often times you start shopping at 6 PM (to wait in line) then get done by 2 AM and head to another store to get in line. You are pretty much up and shopping for 12 hours straight. It’s physically and mentally draining. I suggest in between stores or lines stop and take a break. Go sit on a bench, sit in your car. Even take a short cat nap in your car, whatever works in the amount of time you have do it. You will be glad you did in the long run.

Take Sunday to Relax. Now for my last tip, once you have grabbed all your goodies on Thursday and Friday (possibly Saturday) take Sunday as the day you rest. You need and deserve a full day of rest. Besides Cyber Monday is around the corner so be sure you are all rested up from the Black Friday madness to see what other deals you can score. You might even find better deals online that in-store in which you can return what you already purchased because you kept your receipt 😉
