Jello Shots are pretty much my thing when it comes to parties. I love making different flavors for different occasions and I truly think I outdid myself this time!

Since our Copycat Mountain Dew Baja Blast Freeze and Mountain Dew Biscuits were such a huge hit, I figured it was time to make Mountain Dew Jello Shots.

So, move over Taco Bell, we are going to indulge in the ultimate tropical taste experience with this Mountain Dew Baja Blast Jello Shots recipe!

Perfect for summer barbecues or a fun night in, these jello shots are a unique twist on the classic party staple.

Now, keep in mind, currently, Mountain Dew Baja Blast is hard to find so, I made an alternative and created our own at home that tastes like the real thing. Using just 2 ingredients!

You can make these 2-3 days in advance and keep them covered in the fridge.

Can I use diet Mountain Dew?
Yes! You can certainly use diet Mountain Dew instead of regular.

Can I use Gatorade Zero?
Yes! You can certainly use Gatorade Zero instead of regular.

What toppings can I use for these jello shots?
If you want you can simply serve them plain or use a light layer of Cool-Whip or whipped cream ion top with a cherry. Just be sure to add the toppings on right before serving or the whipped cream will melt.

What other liquor can I use?
You can use white rum, coconut rum, and malibu rum. I do prefer the blue curacao because it helps give it that blue color of baja blast.

How to Make Mountain Dew Baja Blast Jello Shots

Pour the water into a plastic measuring cup and microwave until it comes to a boil. 

Add the Knox gelatin and stir until dissolved. 

Next add the Gatorade, Mountain Dew, and Blue Curacao. Stir until combined.

Pour mixture into shot glasses or small cups and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.

Garnish with whipped cream and a cherry if desired, and serve cold.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Blue Gatorade
  • 1/2 cup Mountain Dew
  • 2 packages of Knox Unflavored Gelatin
  • 1/2 cup of Boiling Water
  • 1/2 cup of Blue Curacao

Instructions

  1. Pour the water into a plastic measuring cup and microwave until it comes to a boil. 
  2. Add the Knox gelatin and stir until dissolved. 
  3. Next add the Gatorade, Mountain Dew, and Blue Curacao. Stir until combined.
