Growing up I remember my great-grandma having all sorts of goodies in her house and one of her favorites was gingersnap cookies especially around the holidays.

With that being said, these old fashioned gingersnap cookies are the holiday cookie missing from your cookie tray.

These Gingersnap cookies have a crispy edge but a soft and chewy center with the perfect amount of spices.

How to Make Old Fashioned Gingersnap Cookies

In the mixing bowl of a stand mixer, add the Butter, Margarine, Sugar, Eggs and Molasses, and mix together until smooth and creamy.

In a separate bowl, add the Flour, Baking Soda, Salt, Cloves, Ginger, and Cinnamon, and sift together until completely mixed. 

Add to the mixing bowl, and mix until blended and a smooth dough has formed.

Heat the oven to 350 degrees, and line 2 cookie sheets with Parchment Paper. 

Scoop the Cookie Dough with a cookie scoop, and roll into balls, and roll the balls in the coarse Decorating Sugars.

Place on the Parchment Paper lined Cookie Sheets, and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to brown.  Repeat until all the dough has been scooped and baked. 

Remove Cookies to a wire rack to completely cool.  

When cookies are cool, serve and enjoy!

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups of Flour
  • 4 teaspoons of Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoon of Salt
  • 1 teaspoon of Cloves
  • 1 teaspoon of Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of Cinnamon
  • 2 cups of Sugar
  • 1 cup of Butter
