quick-tip 7Over the weekend I heard on the news how more and more packages are being stolen from people’s homes once they have been delivered. That is why I decided I would write a Quick Tip on How to Protect Your Holiday Packages from Theft and ultimately protect your wallet from stolen money.

The first thing I want to remind you is that UPS offers a Free way to manage your packages and get notifications of delivery. It’s called UPS My Choice. You can sign-up for Free Here. I have used this service for about a year now and I love it. I know exactly when I am going to receive my package and if that time frame doesn’t work, I can reschedule it.

So my first tip is to sign-up for the UPS My Choice. Here are some other tips:

  • Try to ensure someone is home at the time of delivery. That way the package can immediately be grabbed and taken inside the house.
  • Talk to your delivery drivers and ask if they can place your packages out of sight from a direct road or sidewalk.
  • Ask neighbors to keep an eye out for your packages and ask if they would mind grabbing them for you. You can always give them a nice thank you gift for the holidays 😉
  • Deliver to another friend or family members home. If you’ve had your packages stolen once, it’s likely they will be stolen again simply because that person knows you may not watch your package deliveries closely. By sending them somewhere else, you will win and they will loose.

So I hope this helps you all protect your holiday packages from theft. This time of year is about giving and it’s unfortunate that some people have forgot that meaning!

What other helpful tips do you have to add to this? (Leave them in the comments below)
