Over Easter weekend my younger brother taught me a Simple Black and Tan Beer recipe I just had to share. It was something my husband really enjoyed so I thought I would pass it on to you!
Traditional Black and Tan beer is usually a mixture of several beers and it can be quite difficult to get the mix and look of it right. You usually add several beers in with the lightest at the bottom and darkest at the top. The trick is trying to ensure you get an even transition from the light to dark (starting from the bottom, up).
Instead of having to figure out a complicated way to enjoy a mixture of beers, my younger brother (who an aspiring chef) came up with a simple and delicious recipe. For this recipe we used a black lager and an extra pale ale. Both are also organic making them on the healthier side of beers. You can serve this up at your next gathering and I am sure it will be a hit!
You can adjust this recipe to have more pale ale versus the black lager. You can also use a combination of different beers, this is just the way we enjoy it!

Tip: Use a cup placed into the freezer to keep your beer extra cold. It will even freeze up the froth a bit on the top. Perfect for Hot Summer days!
