Sweet Tea Jello Shots

Nothing is better than a refreshing glass of homemade sweet tea on a warm summer day.

Scratch that – I found something better… These sweet tea jello shots are basically mini boozy Arnold palmers and they are so good and refreshing!

You can whip these up in minutes and serve them up at your next party or enjoy them by yourself on a hot day in your own backyard – no judgement here!

What You Need to Make Sweet Tea Jello Shots

How many servings does this recipe make?

This will make 6 mini jello shots.

Can I use any kind of Whiskey?

Yes! You can use your favorite kind of whiskey.

What can I use instead of whiskey?

If whiskey is not your thing, you can certainly use regular vodka, triple sec, light rum or even tequila as an alternative.

Can I Use Green Tea Bags?

Yes! You can use green tea bags or black tea bags depending on your preference.

How to Make Sweet Tea Jello Shots

Boil the water.

Pour the boiling water into a pitcher and add the tea bags, and sugar, and stir well.

Let tea steep for 20 minutes, and remove tea bags from water.  

Sprinkle the gelatin over the tea, and let the gelatin bloom for 15 minutes, until completely dissolved.

Stir well, and add your whiskey.  Stir to combine so that tea and gelatin are well mixed.

Place the mini mason shot glasses on a small tray or cookie sheet, and pour the gelatin mixture into the shot glasses, filling them with the tea mixture.

Place in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.

Garnish with a lemon wedge then serve and enjoy!

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup of Whiskey – I prefer Jack Daniels whiskey
  • 3 Tea Bags
  • 4 cups of Boiling Water
  • 1 Cup of Sugar
  • 2 Envelopes of Unflavored Gelatin

Instructions
 

  • Boil the water.
  • Pour the boiling water into a pitcher and add the tea bags, and sugar, and stir well.
  • Let tea steep for 20 minutes, and remove tea bags from water.  
  • Sprinkle the gelatin over the tea, and let the gelatin bloom for 15 minutes, until completely dissolved. 
  • Stir well, and add your whiskey.  Stir to combine so that tea and gelatin are well mixed.
