Frequently Asked Questions

I can’t find reusable Starbucks cups, what else can I use?
If you are unable to find the reusable hot or cold Starbucks cups, you can ask a Barista for an empty plastic cold cup or empty paper hot cup with a lid and put the gift card inside those as well.

How much should I get a gift card for?
You can get a gift card for whatever amount you can afford and budget. I’d say $5 being the minimum but I did $10 gift cards + the reusable cup for my kids’ teachers. Total cost for each gift ended up being $12-$13 (depending on which cup I used). The cold cups were $3 and the hot cups were $2.

Does it have to be Starbucks?
Absolutely not! You can choose to use any local coffee shop and get a cup and gift card from there as well. I just chose Starbucks since it’s the easiest with so many locations nearby my children’s schools.

How to Make A ‘Thanks A Latte’ Teacher Appreciation Gift

Once you’ve gathered your supplies including the gift cards and cups, simply assemble them.

I first printed out the gift tags and used my cricut cutter to cut them out.

I then had my kids write their names on them in black Sharpie.

I added a small piece of tissue paper to the bottom of the cups to help elevate the gift cards.

I then used a single hole puncher to make a small hole and then used the curling ribbon to attach the tag to the cup. I tied the ribbon around the straw with those cups. For the hot cups, I applied a small piece of tape on the backside to hold the ribbon in place.
