What You Need to Make A Vampire Poke Cake
- White Cake Mix – Plus the ingredients on the back of the box
- Strawberry Jello– You will use this inside the holes of the cake
- Cool Whip – For the topping
- Red Gel Frosting – For the “bloody” details on the top of the cake
- Plastic Vampire Teeth– Optional but adds to the overall look of the cake
Helpful Tips
- You can make the cake ahead of time. I do recommend frosting the cake and decorating right before serving.
- Store leftovers in airtight container in the fridge.
Vampire Poke Cake
Ingredients
- 1 box White cake mix + ingredients on the back of the box (water, oil, eggs)
- 1 box strawberry jello 3 oz.
- 2 cups Water
- 8 oz. Cool Whip
- Red gel frosting
- Plastic vampire teeth optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Prepare the cake, according to box directions.
- While the cake bakes, prepare the strawberry jello, according to the box directions.
- Allow the finished cake and jello to cool completely.
- Use a straw to poke holes into the cake.
- Carefully pour the jello into the holes.
- Cover, and allow the cake to set in the refrigerator for 4 hours.
- Frost the top of the cake with the cool whip, and decorate with the red gel frosting.
- Note: You’ll need several small tubes of frosting to do the whole cake.
- If desired, cut a 6 pairs of plastic vampire teeth in half, and top each piece with one of the halves.
