  • Strawberry Jello– You will use this inside the holes of the cake
  • Cool Whip – For the topping
  • Red Gel Frosting – For the “bloody” details on the top of the cake
  • Plastic Vampire Teeth– Optional but adds to the overall look of the cake

  • You can make the cake ahead of time. I do recommend frosting the cake and decorating right before serving.
  • Store leftovers in airtight container in the fridge.

How to make a vampire poke cake for a Halloween party

Ingredients
 

  • 1 box White cake mix + ingredients on the back of the box (water, oil, eggs)
  • 1 box strawberry jello 3 oz.
  • 2 cups Water
  • 8 oz. Cool Whip
  • Red gel frosting
  • Plastic vampire teeth optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Prepare the cake, according to box directions.
  • While the cake bakes, prepare the strawberry jello, according to the box directions.
  • Allow the finished cake and jello to cool completely.
  • Use a straw to poke holes into the cake.
  • Carefully pour the jello into the holes.
  • Cover, and allow the cake to set in the refrigerator for 4 hours.
  • Frost the top of the cake with the cool whip, and decorate with the red gel frosting.
  • Note: You’ll need several small tubes of frosting to do the whole cake.
  • If desired, cut a 6 pairs of plastic vampire teeth in half, and top each piece with one of the halves.
