My son starts Kindergarten next week so my mind has been stuck on back-to-school mode. I have been thinking of ways that I can get my son excited for school (I actually think he is more excited than I am) and I’ve come up with some fun school snacks. One of them being this Very Berry Crunch Munch.
It’s not easy juggling working from home on top of being a mom and wife so I rely heavily on quick snacks and treats to help power my family and I through the day. Since I have little ones, they must be easily accessible as well. For starters I always keep a “snack bag” in my car. We are a one-car family and we go from picking my son up from school to picking up daddy from work. So having a snack bag in our car is a must!
But snacks can’t just be snacks right? Kids love snacks that are fun, colorful, and tasty! So I do my best to make snacks to cater to my children’s needs. Happy kids = a happy mom!
One of my son’s favorite snacks is cereal and not just any cereal, he loves Quaker Cap’N Crunch’s Crunch Berries. Which I get why, they are tasty and colorful so a win-win right?
So on I went to my local Walmart (because they always have the best prices) and snagged some of that cereal, some Quaker Instant Oatmeal (for the hubby, he loves this stuff for breakfast), and then I came across the Quaker Chocolate Chip Chewy Dipps. Um, Yum! I really love the peanut butter flavor but since we found out our youngest is highly allergic to peanuts, we are a no-nut family so these chocolate chip chewy bars are the perfect fit for me, I mean us! 😉
And guess what? My son was opening the box to get one out and he found this Birthday Cake Flavored Chewy Bar inside! You totally would have thought it was some awesome toy or something because he was ecstatic! And yep, it’s totally colorful and tasty (I see a trend here).
So once I got home I made this Very Berry Crunch Munch. It turned out great, was easy to make, and is a snack my son enjoys. In case you want to make it too, here is the recipe:
What You’ll Need to Make Very Berry Crunch Munch:
- 2 Cups Quaker Cap’N Crunch’s Crunch Berries
- 1 Box of Raisins
- 1 Cup of Chocolate Candies (I used the mini’s)
- 1 Cup Pretzels
How to Make Very Berry Crunch Munch:
- Combine all ingredients into a large bowl and mix well.
- Serve and Enjoy. Safe any leftovers in an airtight container for future consumption.
In case you aren’t really sure where you can find Quaker products, they are available at your local Walmart down the cereal isle. For my store, that was isle #16. I found the cereal next to all the other cereals, the chewy bars next to the fruit snacks, and the instant oatmeal packets near the pancake mix.
So mom’s (and dad’s) if you are stuck in school mode like I am and need an easy and tasty snack idea make sure you give this Very Berry Crunch Munch a try. I am sure your kids will love it as much as mine do!
