The Lorax Handprint

No ratings yet
The Lorax Handprint craft that will speak for the trees!

Materials

  • Orange Cardstock
  • Yellow Cardstock
  • Googly Eyes
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Black Sharpie or Marker
  • Your child’s hand

Instructions

  • First, start by folding the orange piece of cardstock in half.
  • Next, take a pencil and lightly trace the outside of your child’s hand. You want to make sure their fingers are spread gently apart.
  • Now, carefully cut out your child’s hand but be careful to not cut the fold, you need this to keep the card together.
  • Now, take the yellow cardstock and fold in half. You want to lightly draw a mustache shape and eyebrow shapes but only on one half of the fold (because once you cut this, you’ll have an even shape on both sides).
  • Cut out the shapes from the step above.
  • Next, glue the mustache, eyebrows, and googly eyes onto the handprint keeping the fingers facing down.
  • Lastly, take your black marker and add a few small details like a mouth and have your child write on the inside “I speak for the trees”.
  • You now have a totally adorable Lorax Handprint!
  • You can use this handprint to make cards for friends, family, birthday parties and even celebrate Earth Day!
