Duncan Hines Red Velvet Cake Mixto make the cupcakes
1 8oz.package of Cream Cheeseroom temperature
½Cupof Butter1 stick, room temperature
3Cupsof Powdered Sugaradd more to reach consistency you want
1Teaspoonof Pure Vanilla Extract
1.5oza shot glass size of Pinnacle Amaretto Vodka
1Teaspoonof Cocoa Powderoptional
Instructions
Prepare and bake the Red Velvet Cupcakes according to the instructions on the box then allow to cool in baking pan for 10 minutes prior to frosting.
Combine the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and amaretto vodka into a bowl. Mix well until you reach a nice, thick consistency.
If you want little bits of cocoa in the frosting, add it now and gently fold into the frosting (do not mix with a mixer or it will turn your frosting brown).
Once the cupcakes are cool to the touch you can frost your cupcakes using a frosting tip and frosting bag. I used a large star tip to frost.
