Raspberry Lemon Lip Balm

4.58 from 14 votes

Materials

  • 2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
  • 2 Teaspoons Raspberry Gelatin Mix estimated, it is to add color so you can add less or more
  • 3-4 drops Lemon Essential Oil

Instructions

  • Start by putting the room temperature coconut oil in your microwave safe bowl. It’s pretty cool how the coconut oil goes from a solid to a liquid pretty quickly.
  • Now, heat up your coconut oil in the microwave for about 20 seconds just enough to get it a little melted. Then add the raspberry gelatin mix and mix until well incorporated.
  • Place the coconut oil back into the microwave for another 20 seconds. This time, it should melt entirely and it will have a nice deep raspberry color to it. Tip: Times will vary depending on the settings of your microwave.
  • Add your lemon essential oil and mix well. I want to explain that the color you see now is much darker than the final outcome. Since the coconut oil is pretty transparent when melted, the raspberry gelatin will give it a light color once hardened.
  • Now, carefully pour the melted mixture into your lip gloss containers and set aside. You can store at room temperate or place it into the fridge until it hardens (I chose the refrigerator option). This recipe will fill about 6 small lip balm containers (like the ones I used) so you can double or triple the recipe if you plan to make a lot more.
