Next, add butter, water, food coloring, and sugar and simmer until it reaches a low boil. Stir frequently and boil for about 2 to 3 minutes to get it to thicken.
Once the mixture has thickened, remove from heat. Let cool for about 3 minutes.
Carefully drizzle the mixture over the popcorn, add sprinkles, and toss lightly. Tip: you can also lay the popcorn out on some wax paper and drizzle the mixture and sprinkles that way before serving.
