Grinch Rice Krispies Treats make the cutest holiday treat. These are made using a traditional Rice Krispies Treats recipe, green food coloring and topping with a red heart sprinkle. Watch your heart grow three sizes just making these!
Line a 9-inch square baking dish with parchment paper and coat with nonstick cooking spray.
Place the butter and marshmallows in a medium bowl and microwave for 2 minutes or until the marshmallows begin to get puffy and grow.
Remove them and stir. If there are still lumps, put them back in for 15 seconds at a time and stir until smooth.
Add the green food dye (as much as you want until you reach your desired shade of green. I ended up using the entire container as I wanted mine really green) and stir until no streaks appear.
Add in the rice krispies and mix until the cereal is fully coated with the green marshmallow mixture.
Pour into the pan, spread even, and lightly pack it down.
Leave to sit for about 2 hours at room temp, or in a cool room, or until set.
Slice the treats into 6 even hunks and place a red heart at the upper right corner of each.
Serve and Enjoy!
