Move over chocolate chip cookie skillet, this Jack Skellington Cookie Skillet is the new dessert worth heating up the oven over. It is so easy to make and requires just 9 ingredients you likely already have at home!

Ingredients
  

For The Cookie:

  • 2 Cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¾ Cup unsalted sweet cream butter butter
  • ¾ Cup sugar
  • ¾ Cup light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ Cups Halloween M&M’s

For The Vanilla Frosting:

  • 1 Cup unsalted sweet cream butter softened
  • 2 Cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 4 Tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 2 disposable piping bags
  • Black gel food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9-inch cast iron skillet with nonstick baking spray.
  • Add butter, sugar and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl.
  • Using an electric mixing cream the butter, sugar, and brown sugar together until smooth.
  • Add in the egg and pure vanilla extract to the mixing bowl. Beat until light and fluffy.
  • Sift flour, salt, and baking soda in an additional large bowl.
  • Slowly add 1/3rd of the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
  • Beat after each addition to mix all ingredients.
  • Fold in the 1 Cup of M&M’s.
  • Scoop the batter into the prepared skillet.
  • Smooth the top of the dough with an offset spatula or butter knife.
  • Sprinkle the remaining M&M’s on top.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
  • Set aside to cool completely before decorating.
  • While the cookie is cooling, it's time to make the frosting. You can skip this step and just use premade cans of frosting if you prefer.
  • Using a standing mixer, beat the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and heavy whipping cream until combined, smooth, and thick.
  • Scoop about 1 Cup of frosting into a small bowl and mix in a few drops of the black gel food coloring
  • Scoop the black frosting into 1 piping bag and set aside.
  • Scoop the white frosting into the other piping bag.
  • Cut the tips off each piping bag or use a round tip.
  • Using the white frosting, pipe an oval/circle onto the cookie
  • Fill in the oval with white frosting and smooth evenly.
  • Using the black frosting, pipe on the details of Jack Skellington's face
  • Pipe a black outline around the white oval
  • Serve and Enjoy!
