Ingredients

  • 1 Cup warm water
  • ¼ Cup brown sugar
  • 5 Tablespoons honey
  • 3 Tablespoons molasses
  • 1 ½ teaspoon instant dry yeast
  • 2 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 Tablespoon oatmeal
  • 3 Tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ Cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 100 F. Mix warm water (about 100 F), brown sugar, honey, molasses, and dry yeast in a bowl.
  • Beat with a whisk until combined and at least partially dissolved sugar. Cover the bowl with cling film and leave for 15-20 minutes. Foam should appear on the surface of the water.
  • In a deep bowl, mix the two types of flour, as well as cocoa powder.
  • Pour the sweet water with yeast into a bowl, and add vegetable oil.
  • With a spoon and then with your hands, or with a mixer and a dough hook, knead a smooth and soft dough. Cover the bowl with cling film and put the bowl in the oven for 40-50 minutes.
  • After 40-50 minutes, the dough should double in size.
  • Divide the dough into 8-10 balls of the same size.
  • Roll each ball of dough into a sheet about 1/5 inch thick.
  • Roll the dough tightly and seal the edges. Put in a baking dish. (In the form of 9 x 13 it will be possible to put four pieces).
  • Cover the baking dish with cling film and put in the oven (100F).
  • Wait another 20-30 minutes until the bread has increased in size, then remove from the oven.
  • Set oven to 400F and wait for the oven to preheat.
  • If desired, you can sprinkle bread with oatmeal at this point.
  • Remove the cling film from the baking dish and place in the oven.
  • Bake bread for 18-20 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and allow the bread to cool enough before cutting.
  • Serve and enjoy!
