Gingerbread Pie is the perfect dessert for any holiday celebration. Layered with gingerbread flavor, a creamy sour cream layer and topped with whipped cream and spices, you simply won’t need another holiday pie recipe ever again!

Much like peppermint, Gingerbread is a staple flavor for the holidays. You just can’t celebrate the holidays without it.
After making our Gingerbread Bars, I decided it was time to take this holiday spice flavor to the next level and make it in a pie that is creamy and full of texture.
So, get ready to whip up this delicious holiday pie!

What is Gingerbread Made of?
Gingerbread is a baked sweet that contains ginger and sometimes a blend of spices such as cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, cardamom and anise. It is often sweetened with a combination of brown sugar, molasses, light or dark corn syrup, and/or honey.

What You Need To Make Gingerbread Pie
For The Pie
- One 9in pre-made pie shell
- 1/4 cup unsalted sweet cream butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
For The Sour Cream Layer
- 1 1/2 cup sour cream
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract – you can also use imitation

How to Make Gingerbread Pie
Place the pie shell onto a cookie sheet and preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Using a small bowl, melt the butter and allow to cool slightly
Using a large bowl, beat together the eggs and sugar until combined and then add the melted butter and stir until combined
Beat in the molasses, heavy cream, and lemon juice until combined
Beat in the dry ingredients until combined

Pour the batter into the pie shell and bake in the oven for 45-60
minutes or until the center is firm
Remove from oven and increase oven temp to 425 degrees
Using a medium bowl, whisk together the sour cream, sugar, and vanilla
until combined and smooth
Pour over the top of the pie
Place into the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes
Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before placing into the
fridge overnight
Top with fresh whipped cream, cinnamon and Gingerbread Oreos before serving!

Looks good but is it sour cream or cream cheese? You've listed cream cheese layer in the description but have sour cream in the recipe. Thanks!
