About Brittanie Pyper

I am Brittanie Pyper, the creator of Simplistically Living. I live in Utah with my three amazing children and husband who is also my business partner, the master chef and project manager.

Budget Expert

I have been a budget expert and financial planner for nearly 14 years. After becoming a full-time stay-at-home mom in 2010, I learned how to pay off debt, build savings, find deals and save money on nearly every aspect of life. I’ve created dozens of money saving challenges to help others do the same and build savings in a fun way. My 100 Envelope Challenge has received thousands of views online and my 52 Week $5 Money Savings Challenge has over 5 million views. My money saving methods have even been featured in The Wall Street Journal.

Food Lover

While I love food, I don’t love cooking. Luckily, my husband loves to cook and I love to bake. Between the two of us, we are constantly coming up with new recipes that are simple to make. Easy recipes that can be made on a budget and on limited time, are our specialty and we love sharing our new tasty creations with Simplistically Living readers.

Creative Crafter

I love to be creative and I love to craft. I’ve been crafting nearly my entire life. I love to craft to make handmade gifts and other fun items to display around my home. I also love to craft with my kids. I am also a huge nerd so many of my crafts reflect that.

In fact, did you know that I wrote a Nerdy Bath Crafts Book? It’s called Adorkable Bubble Bath Crafts: The Geek’s DIY Guide to 50 Nerdy Soaps, Suds, Bath Bombs and other Curios that Entertain Your Kids in the Tub. I also co-wrote a kids slime book called 101 Kids Activities that are the Ooey, Gooey-est Ever!: Nonstop Fun with DIY Slimes, Doughs and Moldables. So, if you love to craft like I do, you should check those out!

Simple Living Enthusiast

Many years ago when I started my journey to living a more fulfilling and simple life, I realized that the very meaning was different for everyone. For us, we try to simplify many aspects of our life so that we can make time, energy and have money for the things that matter most. For us, family time – whether it be traveling or enjoying a movie at home, is the most important. So now, we try to aim for a bit more simplicity in the hectic pace of modern life.

can you substitute green food coloring for gel food coloring in the Grinch cookies? is there a difference?

You totally can! The difference is the gel is a thicker consistency and can make your cookies a little more gooey, so I'd start with a small amount until you achieve the color you want.
