The easiest way to ward off Creepers is with this Homemade Minecraft Creeper Soap! No that is NOT a disclaimer but it can’t hurt to try right?

Homemade Minecraft Creeper Soap When those creepers are creepin’ you need something to help keep them away from your precious build. Unless you are a Minecraft fan you probably have no idea what I am talking about. But if you are on this page, chances are you do or you know someone that loves Minecraft. Either way this soap has to be something you make.

I want to give you all a fair warning that this isn’t the simplest soap to make but it is the COOLEST! So give yourself a few hours and you will have the best soap on the block (literally, in shape. It’s a block don’t you see?)

How to Make Homemade Minecraft Creeper Soap:

Supplies needed:

You will also need:

  • A Microwave Safe Measuring Cup
  • Sharp Knife
  • Box Cutter or other Small Knife
  • Infrared Thermometer (optional but helps determine soap temperature)
  • Plastic Dropper
  • Rubbing Alcohol (and spray bottle)

  1. Start by cutting your clear melt & pour soap base into small chunks. Then place into your microwave safe measuring cup. minecraft creeper soap inprocess1
  2. Microwave the soap for 30 seconds, remove and stir. Complete this process until all soap is melted.
  3. Add 1/2 of your black oxide color block to the clear melted soap and stir until the block dissolves.
  4. Add your fragrance oil. I used about 10 drops.
  5. Pour the melted black soap into your 6″ silicone slab mold. You want to achieve a thin layer of the black soap. This is what will be used to cut out your creeper face embeds. minecraft creeper soap inprocess2
  6. Spray the top of the black soap with rubbing alcohol to remove any air bubbles. Then set the mold aside and allow it to harden.
  7. In the meantime, you will want to draw out your Creeper face. I used graph paper but regular paper will do just fine. Simply place the paper under the 12 bar square silicone mold and draw the face accordingly. This ensures the face embed will fit perfectly inside the mold. minecraft creeper soap inprocess3 minecraft creeper soap inprocess4
  8. The next step is to work on the on the green part of the soap. Repeat steps 1-2 above.
  9. Add 1-2 Chrome Green color blocks. I ended up using 2 to achieve the color shown above. You can adjust the color to your liking.
  10. Add your energy fragrance oil. I used about 10 drops.
  11. Once ready, pour about 1/4 of an inch into each cavity of the square silicone mold. You want a very, very thin layer of soap. Again VERY THIN!
  12. Move that mold aside and allow to harden.
  13. Now it’s time to work on the Creeper face embeds. You are going to use your paper stencil from step 6 as a guide to help you cut the right size. Simply cut out the stencil, remove the black hardened soap from the slab mold, and place the stencil on the top of the black soap.
  14. Using a small sharp knife, you are going to cut around the edges of the stencil to create your Creeper face. The eyes and the mouth will be cut into separate pieces. minecraft creeper soap inprocess5
  15. Once you are finished, your embeds should look like this:  minecraft creeper soap inprocess6
  16. Now go back to the green soap you poured into the cavities of the 12 bar square mold. Spray the layer of soap with rubbing alcohol liberally. This ensures the embedding layers will stick to each other.
  17. Using your fingers, position the creeper face embeds on top of the thin green layer. Don’t worry if the layer isn’t hardened all the way, this actually makes keeping the embeds in place easier. minecraft creeper soap inprocess7
  18. Check the remaining melted green soap to ensure the temperature is at or below 135 degrees fahrenheit. If you don’t, it could melt the layers below including the creeper face.
  19. Once it’s cool enough, spray the creeper face with rubbing alcohol then pour the remaining green soap on top of each face filling the cavity entirely.  minecraft creeper soap inprocess8
  20. Allow this soap to harden for at least 4-6 hours. I allowed mine to harden overnight before removing.
  21. Once hardened, remove from the mold. You will notice the thin layer over the creeper face. You are going to remove this layer by using a box cutter or small knife. I actually used one of my silhouette tools and it worked great! Gently work on small sections to remove the thin green layer revealing the Creeper face. You can use your fingers and a bit of water to smooth down any rough edges to clean it up. minecraft creeper soap inprocess9
  22. Now it’s time to enjoy your new Minecraft Creeper Soap! Don’t forget, when you are not planning to use this soap, it needs to be wrapped in clear plastic wrap!

Great idea. Even grandpa’s like me can be a hit with my kid’s kiddos. Look out world. Here I come!

  2. This is so clever and cool! We haven’t done Minecraft yet (I know…we’re way behind the times) but I know a ton of kids and adults in my life who would love to make this soap! Thank you for sharing at the #HomeMattersParty with us!
