Amazon Prime Day is here and it is one of the biggest shopping days of the year.
With that being said, some sale items are better than others and if you’re not careful, you may end up paying more than planned.
Don’t worry though – I have you armed and ready with tips and tricks on how to save the most on Amazon Prime Day so you don’t have any buyers remorse.
Now, for starters, I want you to know, you DON’T NEED anything from Amazon today or tomorrow for that matter.
However, if you have it in your budget and you want to grab yourself something you’ve been eyeing or want to get a jumpstart on Christmas shopping, this 2-day sale is a great time to do that.

How to Save The Most on Amazon Prime Day
Here’s the thing, as a money-saving, budgeting type of gal – I like to save the most I can on anything I buy.
With that being said, not everything during Prime Day is worth it. Sometimes, sellers will mark up items just to mark them down to make you think you are getting a great deal.
So, how do you know if you are actually getting a great deal?
Well, I use a Free Google Chrome Web Extension called Honey.
Honey is a free extension where you create an account and active the extension on your web browser.
Then, when you are viewing an item, it will tell you the price history so you can see if the Amazon Prime Day price truly is the best price or not. It’s a total game changer and it’s FREE!
For example, I am looking this hammock as we want a new one to take camping. I can hover over my Honey extension and click “view price history” and it tells me all the recent prices.
I can see that just a few days ago, the price was even lower than it is now.
That means, this is an item I may be able to wait until after Prime Day to buy.
Join Honey Here (again, it’s free and the best way to view prices).
Other Ways to Save During Amazon Prime Day
Do Your Homework
Research is the key. Take some time ahead of Prime Day to scout out the items you’re interested in. Check their current prices, read reviews, and compare with other sellers or sites. This helps you to identify genuine bargains when the sale starts and avoid impulse purchases.
Create a Wishlist
Once you’ve done your research, add your desired items to your Amazon Wishlist. Amazon will send you a notification if any of your Wishlist items go on sale, saving you the trouble of searching through countless deals.
You can also add items to your cart and when you click your cart button, Amazon will notify you of any price changes prior to checkout.
Capitalize on Lightning Deals
Amazon’s Lightning Deals offer some of the best discounts, but they are time-sensitive and typically last for a few hours or until the product is sold out. To ensure you don’t miss out, check the “Upcoming” section regularly, and click “Watch this deal” for items you’re interested in.
Leverage Whole Foods Discounts
If you’re a Prime member, you’re entitled to exclusive deals at Whole Foods Market during Prime Day. Keep an eye out for these discounts, especially on grocery items.
Use Amazon’s Credit Card
If you’re a regular Amazon shopper, their credit card might be a good option as it offers 5% cashback on Amazon and Whole Foods purchases. On Prime Day, they often increase this cashback to even higher rates, which can add up to significant savings.
Right now, you can get a $200 Amazon Gift Card when approved for the Amazon Credit Card!
Subscribe & Save More
Amazon’s ‘Subscribe & Save’ feature can help you save extra on household staples, personal care items, and more. This feature is especially useful on Prime Day when it often comes with added discounts.
You can often save up to 20% on orders placed that day if you sign-up for subscribe & save. Just make sure to cancel if you decide not to keep those subscriptions.
Share your Prime Account
You can share your Prime account with another adult in your household through Amazon Household. This allows both of you to access Prime Day deals while only paying for one membership.
Remember, Prime Day can be a great opportunity to save, but only if you’re shopping wisely. Don’t get swept up by the hype and end up buying things you don’t need or can’t afford. Stick to your list, set a budget, and enjoy the deals!
Happy Prime Day Shopping!
