Everyone loves cheese and who can turn down a cheese ball?
If you can roll up a ball of cheese along with some other delicious mix-ins, you can make this Pumpkin King appetizer.
Jack Skellington’s face is made from a traditional cheese ball recipe then topped with black olives for the details in his face. We finished it off with homemade pumpkin shaped tortilla chips that have the perfect amount of salt and crunch.
Making this Jack Cheese Ball is quite easy. The hardest part is after you make the cheese ball you have to wait for it to set in the refrigerator. I promise the wait will be worth it though!
The video below shows you exactly how to make it but if you want a more step-by-step approach, I’ve got you covered below.
How to Make a Jack Skellington Cheese Ball:
A few things to note:
- If not covered entirely, the outside of the cheese ball will crust and harden. Keep it covered at all times.
- You can add any ingredients you’d like to this cheese ball – be creative!
- I recommend allowing the cheese ball to reach room temperature before serving to avoid chips being broken off into the cheese ball.
- You can also use a pairing knife to apply the dip to the chips.
- Keep any leftovers refrigerated.

Jack Skellington Cheese Ball Recipe:
Jack Skellington Cheese Ball
Ingredients
- 2 8 oz. Packages of Cream Cheese
- 1 ½ Cups Pepper Jack Cheese
- ⅓ Cup Green Onions
- ½ Cup Bacon Cooked and Diced
- ½ tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- Black Olives some whole and some cut into halves
Instructions
- Start by cooking the bacon and allow to cool. Once cooled, cut into small diced pieces and set aside. While your bacon is cooking, allow your cream cheese to set out of the fridge for easier mixing.
- Add all ingredients into a stand mixer and mix well. You can also use a bowl and a handmixer if you have that instead.
- Place combined ingredients onto wax paper. Pick up the cheese mixture and use hands to form a ball. You want to make it as round as possible.
- Next, place the ball onto the wax paper and add the details of Jack’s face using the black olives. We used 2 whole olives for his eyes and then sliced olives cut in half for his mouth. You can give him that stitched look by alternating the way the cut olives are facing.
- Now, place in refrigerator for one hour to allow the cheeseball to set.
- Once set, remove from fridge and serve with our homemade pumpkin tortilla chips or crackers of your choice.
- Enjoy!
