Bloody Jello Shots
Halloween is hands down my favorite holiday. I love all things spooky and anything I can make or bake, I am all in.
With that being said, a spooky shot is a must-have at any Halloween party and I am sure these blood jello shots will be a huge hit. Of course, they are made with fake blood (it’s actually food coloring and jello) but actually look quite gruesome and real.

What You Need to Make Bloody Jello Shots
- Unflavored Gelatin
- Cold Water
- Condensed Milk
- Hot water
- Red Gel Food Coloring (I suggest using a gel for a darker color)
- Cherry Vodka
- Spiced Rum
- Injector, needle removed
- 2 oz. Jello Shot Cups
Can I use flavored jello?
Yes! You can use flavored jello. I would suggest a red gelatin mixture such as a cherry or strawberry flavor. You can then add a drop or two of red food coloring to it to make it a darker red.
What sort of cherry vodka should I use?
I used the UV cherry vodka but you can use any kind you’d like.
How many servings does this recipe make?
This recipe makes about 14 – 2 oz. jello shots.
How far in advance can I make this?
You can make these 24-48 hours in advance just keep them refrigerated until ready to serve.
How to Make Bloody Jello Shots
In a medium sized bowl add the gelatin and hot water. Whisk to combine and allow the gelatin to bloom for about 5 minutes.
Add the cup of cold water to the gelatin and mix until combined.
Next add the condensed milk, food coloring, and liquors. Stir well.
Using the injector, fill the Jello mixture into the Jello cups to the top. The more bubbles at the top of the cups, the better.
Chill for 2 hours or until jello is firm.
Serve and Enjoy!

This turned out absolutely awful. These were sickly pink like pepto bismol no matter how much red food coloring I added. If you’re going to post pictures that are only achievable by using a boxed mix, maybe don’t make the first ingredient unflavored gelatin. The way you’ve phrased it, you make it sound as if using a boxed mix is optional, not essential to replicating the pictures.

Be sure to use the SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK. Nowhere does this say sweetened. Do NOT use evaporated milk. No flavor at all. Looked like Pepto Bismol, and I used 1/2 bottle of food coloring. No flavor.
