The holidays call for delicious treats and tasty appetizers and you simply cannot go wrong with cheese!

If you can roll up a ball of cheese along with some other delicious mix-ins, you can make this Grinch Cheese Ball appetizer.

The Grinch’s face is made from a classic cheese ball recipe then topped with black olives for the details in his face. We served it with snowflake crackers that add the perfect amount of salt and crunch.

How to Make A Grinch Cheese Ball Appetizer:

Cook your bacon and allow to cool. Once cooled, cut into small diced pieces and set aside.

Add all ingredients into a stand mixer and mix well.

Place combined ingredients onto wax paper. Pick up the cheese mixture and use hands to form a ball. You want to make it as round as possible.

Place the ball onto the wax paper and add the details of Grinch’s face using the black olives and yellow pepper.

Now add your tiny red heart sprinkle onto the bottom right side of the cheeseball (just adds a cute finishing touch).

Now, place in refrigerator for one hour to allow the cheeseball to set.

Once set, remove from fridge and serve with crackers of your choice. We loved serving this with the Holiday Snowflake Ritz Crackers.Enjoy!

A few things to note:

  • If not covered entirely, the outside of the cheese ball will crust and harden. Keep it covered at all times.
  • You can add any ingredients you’d like to this cheese ball – be creative!
  • I recommend allowing the cheese ball to reach room temperature before serving to avoid chips being broken off into the cheese ball.
  • You can also use a pairing knife to apply the dip to the chips.
  • Keep any leftovers refrigerated.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages Packages of Cream Cheese 8 oz
  • 1 ½ Cups Pepper Jack Cheese
  • Cup Green Onions
  • ½ Cup Bacon Cooked and Diced
  • ½ Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • Black Olives
  • Yellow Bell Pepper
  • Red Heart Sprinkle
  • 4-5 Drops Neon Green Food Coloring
  • 2-3 Drops Green Food Coloring
  • Wax Paper
  • Crackers for dipping

Instructions

  • Start by cooking the bacon and allow to cool. Once cooled, cut into small diced pieces and set aside. While your bacon is cooking, allow your cream cheese to set out of the fridge for easier mixing.
  • Add all ingredients into a stand mixer and mix well. You can also use a bowl and a handmixer if you have that instead.
  • Place combined ingredients onto wax paper. Pick up the cheese mixture and use hands to form a ball. You want to make it as round as possible.
  • Next, place the ball onto the wax paper and add the details of Grinch’s face using the black olives. We used 2 ends of whole olives for his eyes and then cut off the ends of yellow bell peppers to go around that part. Then sliced olives cut in half for his mouth and nose.
  • Now add your tiny red heart sprinkle onto the bottom right side of the cheeseball (just adds a cute finishing touch).
  • Now, place in refrigerator for one hour to allow the cheeseball to set.
  • Once set, remove from fridge and serve with crackers of your choice. We loved serving this with the Holiday Snowflake Ritz Crackers.
  • Enjoy!
