Halloween is the perfect time to whip up all sorts of new recipes and if you’re looking for no bake desserts, these little guys are perfect!

These Halloween Oreo Truffles are a fun twist on traditional Oreo cream cheese balls. Instead of cream cheese, you use frosting. And instead of balls, we make them into ghosts.

However, the overall taste and texture are the exact same making them perfect for serving up to party guests.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I use candy eyes?
Yes! If you would prefer to use candy eyes instead of the black candy melts, you can.

Things to Note:

  • Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to five days or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. The truffles have a firmer texture when stored in the fridge. I like to let them come to room temperature for 10-15 minutes before enjoying them.
  • This recipe was tested using regular Oreo cookies. If you use double-stuffed Oreos, you will need less frosting to make the truffle filling. I recommend starting with ¾ cup of frosting. Add more frosting 1 tablespoon at a time if needed.
  • The easiest way to combine the Oreo crumbs with the frosting is with my hands. It is messy but will allow you to combine the two much quicker than with a spoon.
  • If the Oreo and frosting mixture is too sticky to form into ghost shapes, place it in the refrigerator for 5 minutes to firm up.
  • Almond bark is another excellent option for coating the truffles.
  • You can use edible markers or decorating gel to make the ghost faces instead of candy melts.
  • Ensure you chill the truffles before you coat them with the chocolate. If the truffles are not firm enough, they will fall apart as you coat them and leave cookie crumbs in your coating chocolate.
