Stained Glass Cookies
I love Valentine’s Day! There is just something in the air that makes me want to bake!
I started with these Boozy Valentine Hot Cocoa Bombs, Conversation Heart Cocoa Bombs, Valentine Brownies, Valentine M&M’s Cookies and then made these Marbled Heart Cookies.
And I am not stopping there!
These Heart Shaped Stained Glass Cookies turned out way cuter than I expected so I hope you’re excited to make them!
Why I Love This Recipe
- These are easy to make
- Fun and colorful
- They have a fruity taste
- They are kid-approved (my kids loved them!)
Things To Note:
- Jolly Ranchers work best for this. I also tried some butterscotch candies (I really wanted yellow!) but those got really dull when they dried. Bottom Line: use Jolly Ranchers.
- Crushing the candy as finely as possible will reduce the amount of candy overspilling on the edge.
- Don’t overcook the cookies. If they are golden brown, you overcooked them. They are done when they are set and no longer shiny, don’t wait for the edges to turn.
- Be sure to cool completely before moving off the parchment. Trust me!

How to Make Heart Stained Glass Cookies
Make your dough.
Once the dough is made, cover the dough and place in the refrigerator for one hour.
Once the dough is almost done chilling, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Remove dough from the refrigerator and roll out onto a floured surface about a half of an inch thick.
Cut into desired shapes (we made ours heart shaped), being sure to cut out hollow areas to place the Jolly Rancher candy.
Place shapes onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Unwrap the Jolly Rancher candies and organize by color. Then place each color into a plastic bag. Crush into small pieces.
Place the candy in the hollowed out areas.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies are set and the candy centers are melted. Be careful to not over bake.
Allow to cool on the baking sheet until the candy is completely cooled.
Mix the glaze and drizzle over cookies when cooled. Serve and enjoy!
