This Whipped Hot Cocoa recipe is the perfect feel-good drink when it’s cold outside. With just 3 ingredients, you’ll have a sweet, chocolate flavored drink that will warm your soul.
What is Whipped Hot Cocoa?
A while back, whipped coffee became a major trend on TikTok where you would blend whipping cream and instant coffee together. Since then, it has evolved and many recipes (like this one) have come about.
The thing I love about this Whipped Hot Cocoa is that it is safe for kids to eat since it doesn’t contain any caffeine.
This is the perfect caffeine-free way to enjoy Whipped Hot Chocolate.
Whipped Hot Cocoa
Ingredients:
- Heavy Whipping Cream – Make sure it’s cold. (I usually put it in the freezer half an hour before starting)
- Hot Cocoa Mix – I prefer the Swiss Miss or Starbucks Hot cocoa (you can use milk chocolate, dark chocolate or even white chocolate cocoa mix)
- Warm Milk – I prefer whole milk as it gives a creamer consistency. You can even Almond, Rice or Soy milk as well.
- Chocolate shavings – optional but I like the added look and taste
How to Make It:
In a bowl, beat the whipping cream well using a hand mixer or whisk until it starts gaining consistency and forms soft peaks.
Add the hot cocoa powder and keep mixing until the cream is whipped.
Fill a mug or a cup until about 2/3 with warm milk. You can also enjoy it with cold milk, over ice.
Spoon a bit of the whipped chocolate on top. You can also top with chocolate shavings if you prefer.
Your Whipped Hot Chocolate is ready! Use a spoon to mix the coffee with the milk as you drink it.
Things To Note:
- You can adapt the chocolate quantities for a sweeter version if you prefer.
- When the milk is warm, the whipped chocolate will dissolve quite fast.
- This is enough for two big cups.
