Boring, store bought hot cocoa is a thing of the past! These Grinch Hot Chocolate Spoons are a fun and tasty way to make hot chocolate at home. With just green melting chocolate and sprinkles, you’ll have an edible treat in no time!
If you’ve been here before, you know that we’ve been making all sorts of fun Grinch inspired treats!
First there was the Grinch Hot Cocoa Bombs then the Grinch Marshmallow Stirrers. Both which make a tasty Grinch Hot Chocolate.
And now, we have taken that fun one step further with these hot chocolate spoons!
They are so easy to make and can be made in about 20 minutes or less (including the time it takes to have them harden). These simply melt in your hot milk! Fun, right?
Grinch Hot Chocolate Spoons
Ingredients Needed:
How to Make Chocolate Grinch Spoons:
Start by placing your chocolate candy melts into a microwave safe bowl.
Next, melt your chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir and repeat until all the chocolate is melted (be careful not to burn it).
Now, spoon the chocolate into the silicone spoon mold filing each spoon cavity entirely. You can lift it up and give it a gentle tap against the counter to help remove air bubbles and fill in any gaps.
Allow these to sit for about 20 minutes or until they are hardened (at room temperature). You can speed up the process by placing into the fridge or freezer for about 10 minutes.
Once the chocolate is hardened, gently flip the silicone mold over and gently push the backside of the mold until the spoons release. Be really careful as these are fragile.
Once your spoons are done, reheat some of the melting chocolate and dip a red heart sprinkle into the melted chocolate and then apply it onto the top of the spoon.
You can now place your Grinch Chocolate Spoon into a hot cup of milk until it melts and drink it. You can also store these in cute bags and give them as holiday gifts.
Things To Note:
- Be sure to store any leftover spoons in a cool, dry place as the chocolate will melt.
- Avoid getting the chocolate wet at any point or it will seize.
- The heat of your hands is enough to melt these so keep them in a cool place until ready to be used.
