No Bake Strawberry Jello Pie

Whether it’s a hot summer day or you just want an easy dessert to make, this strawberry jello pie recipe is the answer!

This easy pie is made by combining strawberry jello and Cool Whip placed on top of a graham cracker crust. Of course, topping it with fresh strawberries is a must!

This is a great make-ahead dessert and pairs great with those summer months when strawberries are in their peak season.

What You Need to Make Strawberry Jello Pie

  • Strawberry Jell-O – Strawberry jello powder is used for the filling. You can also use any other flavor such as raspberry or cherry.
  • Cool Whip – You can use light Cool Whip or Sugar-Free Cool Whip if you’d rather.
  • Water – You will need both hot water and ice water to get the gelatin mixture to set.
  • Graham Cracker Crust – You can use your own homemade graham cracker crust or store-bought graham cracker crust.

Depending on how big you slice the pieces, this will make about 8-10 servings.

What size box of jello do I need?

For this recipe, I used the 3 oz. boxes of jello mixture.

Can I use sugar-free Jello?

Yes! You can use sugar-free Jello just know, the pie may not be as sweet. If you do use the sugar-free Jello mixture, these actually end up being 0 WW points if you are on the Weight Watcher program.

Why did my Jell-O pie not set?

If you made this recipe and your Jell-O pie did not set, it’s safe to assume you did not use boiling water to dissolve the gelatin mixture in first. This step is crucial in allowing the pie to fully set.

Is it safe to eat jello powder?

According to the FDA, gelatin (the main ingredient in jello powder) is considered safe to eat because it isn’t considered “raw”.

How do I store leftovers?

Store any leftovers in an airtight container or wrap pie in plastic wrap and store in the fridge for a few days. Try to keep any moisture away from the pie as it can cause the pie and crust to become soggy.

How to Make Easy Strawberry Jello Pie

Begin by boiling your 2/3 of water.

Once water is boiled, stir in your strawberry gelatin powder until fully dissolved. This step is important!

Add in your cup of ice-cold water (ensure it is very cold, add ice to your cold water if needed). Stir well.

Whisk in your Cool Whip until all of the ingredients are mixed well. Place this into the fridge for about 30 minutes.

Once chilled, mix again and place back into the fridge for another 30 minutes.

Add the pie filling into the pie crust and place into the fridge for about 6 hours allowing the pie to properly set.

When ready, slice into even pie slices and serve and enjoy!

How to make an easy 3-ingredient Strawberry Jello Pie

Ingredients
  

  • 3 ounces strawberry jello mix
  • cup water
  • 1 cup ice cold water
  • 16 ounces cool whip divided
  • 9 inch graham cracker crust
  • Fresh strawberries for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Bring the 2/3 cup of water to a boil. Remove from the heat and whisk in jello mix, stirring until dissolved.
  • Stir in the 1 cup ice cold water, and stir for 1-2 minutes as jello starts to thicken slightly.
  • Pour the jello mixture into a large mixing bowl, and whisk in 12 ounces of the cool whip (3/4 of the 16 ounce container).
  • Move the mixture to the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, check the mixture and give it another whisk to make sure all of the jello and cool whip are incorporated.
  • Place back into the refrigerator for another 30 minutes.
  • Give the mixture a final stir, and pour into your prepared crust, careful not to over fill, discard any extra filling.
  • Place the pie into the refrigerator to set for at least 6 hours, or over night.
  • When serving, add the remaining cool whip to a piping bag with a 1M star tip.
  • Pipe a bit of cool whip onto each piece and top with a fresh strawberry, if desired.
  • Serve and Enjoy!

I see these pies online all the time and am SO intrigued by them! I'm from Australia so we don't have cool whip readily available to us, but there IS an American candy store near me that might have some, so I'd like to just see *what* it is, and then I love jello (which is not what we call it here, but my audience is American, so it's what I call it now!) so I would really like to try this recipe to see what an on Earth it tastes like because my mind and tastebuds can't even comprehend it 😂 but it looks good!
